Hi, my name is Josh Chen. In 2009, the Lord called me out of the corporate world where I had been for nearly 15 years to go on a different journey with Him. What made me leave my awesome job and go to a country that I hadn't been to in 30 years? I can't explain it except that God has given me a burden for the youth in Taiwan.
There in Taiwan, God grabbed my heart and explained, "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full" (John 10:10). He said, “but you have a choice. You can come and be a part of what I’m doing here in Taiwan, or not. But know this. If you do not come, help will arise from another place.” It was so clear!
I realized that living and having life are two different things. I relented and told the Lord, "Ok. I'll come. It's time I stop fighting."
So my journey now takes me from Chicago to Kansas City to Kaohsiung, Taiwan where I will stay for the foreseeable future. Kaohsiung, on the southern coast, is the second largest city in Taiwan. It is here that will be partnering with a local church called the So San Church that ministers in the poor section of the city. I will be mentoring the youth who attend the church and ministering to surrounding areas. Additionally, I will be partnering with the 24-7 prayer house to mentor worship teams and help keep prayer persisting. Because I will not know the local language, Mandarin Chinese, I will be taking language courses while I am in Taiwan to become fluent. (My parents would be proud.)
So my question to you is this: "Will you be a part of this?" Follow me in this journey that God is taking me. Be a part of God's work all the way across the world, impacting youth for the future and revealing the Father Heart of God to those who may have never experienced it!
